I used the Doodlie-Do stampset from PTI for the beautiful rainbow medallion, a awesome button from Patti's stash. Bakers twine and cardstock were from CTMH and the inks were a combination of CTMH and stampin up. This challenge was exactly that! A challenge. We tried various shapes until we found what we liked most.
Check out the brilliant card that Patti did on her blog: StationeryStyles.blogspot.com
For the inside of the card I chose a stampset from CTMH called Treasure Life. I added the color around the sentiment by using the corner of the ink pads to apply a small amount of ink and making little slash like marks. It takes a little practice but it is really a great result. If this is new for you, try it and let me know how you like it.
This card is amazing! Theresa is such a great friend, card maker, and encourager!! We had a wonderful visit! and her cards were perfect. Mine on the other hand were... um... what my sister calls "butts" I tried so many times to throw mine in the trash but Theresa kept on encouraging me until I actually completed one we both liked!
ReplyDeleteI am having some photo studio challenges right now but I will be posting my card very soon.
Hey T, I don't see your link to the Make It Monday. If you had trouble with Mr. Linky let me know so I can lend a hand.
Thank you again for all the FUN and GOODIES and food and FUN!!!
Love you!
Patti
Anytime my dear friend. Remember... I got into papercrafting for you so each creation I make you are grandma to! Thanks for being such a good friend!
DeleteI love the stamps you chose to use and that fun button is a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes the button. At first we were not sure if we liked it. I threaded embroidery thread through the holes to make it kinda look like a flower center. Once the card was completed I fell in love with the button! So glad Patti had this perfect center for my card.
DeleteBeautiful card, Theresa! The Doodlie Do stamps look fabulous as your rainbow and the center medallion is perfect ~ luckily Patti let it go ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes she is so generous and talented. Cant help but create beautiful things with her around.
DeleteThis card is so strikingly lovely and the colors, oh my goodness, the colors are gorgeous!! I am way impressed by the beauty of this card!! Hope you are having a most wonderful day!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I guess I have learned to not give up and even if you might not like the design of something (like the button i would never wear something like that) that even that button found a home and the card would not be as striking without it. Thanks for stopping.
DeleteWOWZA, Theresa! I love, love, love your card for this technique!! I just saw how you helped Patti out, too, and love her card as well! There is nothing better than friends crafting with friends!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteVery sweet medallion! That stamp worked great.
