Howdy everyone. I just wanted to share this awesome die I discovered the other day. I was in a local craft store in Barron (Hand and Heart Creations) and saw a card they made for a class using this QUILTED CUTTING PLATE by Taylored Expressions (made in USA by the way) and THANKS by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I used these two new dies and my butterfly die to create a fun card.
For this card I did the following:
Cut the frame in Cotton Candy cardstock. I embossed with black embossing powder but if you look real close you can see the pink in the stitching. Thought that was really cool.
I cut the quilt pieces out on HAPPY TIMES B&T paper from National Scrapbooking special with CTMH. flipped some of the pieces to get the green pattern. I also filled some of the spaces with Cotton Candy cardstock. The base if Pear cardstock.
Next I cut out the solid part of the butterfly out on foam and then cut the delicate die and body out on black cardstock and heat embossed in black. I layered it on the foam and glued together.
Next I cut the THANKS out on white foam and Baby Pink cardstock and attached that to the front of the card.
Here is the YOU MUST BE KITTEN ME card. It was a lot of fun too.
I used the stampset Animal Greetings that is so adorable. There are 15 adorable animals with equally adorable sayings for quick and easy cards for a variety of occasions.
First I made the card base and first layer using White CS, Sunset and another piece of the Happy Times B&T paper. I used one my CTMH Cricut Cartridge to cut out the shapes for my focal/ sentiment piece.
I colored the kitten using CTMH watercolor pencils and then heat embossed with THICK embossing powder to give it a "badge" type of look and make him center of attention. He really shines (literately) I added a few Pink Enamel Gems and I was finished. I cant wait to try a few of the other animals.
I will be linking both of these cards to:

- Pixies Crafty Workshop because all of my cards are created with some sort of snippet! The white of my butterfly, the frame around my kitten... all from my smaller pieces of cardstock that are now part of the bigger picture- or cards as it may be. Thanks for stoppin over and see you in blogworld. Check out this blog, its a blast to be party of! Everyone is friendly and the artwork is amazing.
Two fabulous cards here Theresa! I do love the quilting cutting plate, I have a similar square one by Taylored Expressions and it's such fun to use - in fact I gave one away as a Playground prize a while ago. Lovely colours you used and the butterfly and sentiment are such lovely touches. Of course I also adore the kitten card, and what a super set of stamps too. It's always so tempting when I see the wonderful goodies that Playmates use on their creations :)
