I am a saver. I cant throw anything away. And now that we are moving, that is becoming a problem and I have to downsize. That is why I have the items for sale in Lot 1,2.3 and 4. There will be more coming but for now, thats a good start.
So lets get started with MY SNIPPETS!!
Here is my quick and easy place to put my scraps after a project. The large box are pieces larger in one way or another that the size of a typical card base. The smaller box would be anything smaller that a card base. I leave these containers just like they are and are my quick and easy place to go to when I am looking for a SNIPPET. This is a quick and easy way to clean up after a crafting session without spending a ton of time on the detail of colors. Most of the time I use most everything in this box so why sort to just take out again anyway?
If I dont find what I am looking for here, then I can look in two other places.
Once in a while I clean out the top two boxes and sort them into the following containers. I use quart size bags to sort each by their specific color. So I have about 8 different blues and 3 oranges and so on. The first container is all white, colonial white and black pieces.
Thanks for stopping by and leave me a comment on HOW YOU SORT YOUR SNIPPETS! Thanks and have an inky good day!

If I am looking a piece much bigger then I go to my black organizer which is a paper organizer on its side. Here is where I have larger pieces of cardstock stored in large 12x12 zip top bags: by colors like blue, green, pink and so on.

That's kind of what I do too. they're sorted by color in plastic bags. I usually go to the bags first to see if there's a color I need before I cut a new piece of paper.
ReplyDeleteHa! We really ought to have a share your snippets storage ideas week in the Playground. I think you're more organised than me, although I'm halfway organised I guess :)

I have a little set of 6 plastic drawers sitting on my desk, loosely colour sorted within each drawer, then I have 1 A4-sized drawer for larger snippets that aren't Stampin' Up! And a little bag of SU snippets. I always use snippets first before trying to find a larger piece of something. Every now and then I'll have a snippet-busting session trying to make as many cards or tags as I can from a selection of snippets I've thrown on the desk! That's how I keep my snippets DOWN!
ReplyDeleteYou look very organised!

I have all my 12x12 card in zip top plastic bags with 2 shades to each bag and cardboard between to keep it from bending. What I am doing now is putting even the smallest piece of card back into the bag with the corresponding colour so that it is easy to find. Needless to say I still have a large box of BITS that never seems to get any emptier.

I have a similar organization, a box with dividers for the big scraps and I put them for colour, and a box on the desk to put the pieces when I finish my work! But my "temporary box" on the desk is more big :)
